Aloe Entertainment is one of Los Angeles' most prolific independent production companies. The Los Angeles based feature film/television company was created in 1999 by Mary Aloe. Mary Aloe and Aloe Entertainment produces and finances individual pictures and slates of movies. Aloe Entertainment specializes in developing/producing independent features, television series, and network and cable event movies. Mary Aloe and Aloe Entertainment specialize in obtaining 100% financing for features by raising private equity; working with hedge funds, gap financing, top tier foreign sales companies and securing domestic distribution. As well, Mary Aloe's vast knowledge of P & A financing was recognized when she was brought in to run a 50 million dollar P & A fund backed by Merrill Lynch.

Producer Mary Aloe and Aloe Entertainment, along with her development team, have produced a record nine features in the last two years alone including E-One's "Beast of Burden" starring Daniel Radcliffe, Weinstein's "Wild Oats" starring Shirley Maclaine and Jessica Lange, Sony's "55 Steps" starring Hilary Swank and Helena Bonham Carter, Screen Media's "Mothers and Daughters" starring Susan Sarandon and Sharon Stone, "Mara" with the "Paranormal Activity" team starring Olga Kurylenko, "Coup D'état" starring Sir Michael Caine, and the Sundance Film Festival selected film, with Screen Media, "Ten Thousand Saints" starring Ethan Hawke, Hailee Steinfeld and Emil Hirsch.

Many of these critically acclaimed features were selected for some of the world's most prestigious film festivals: "When A Man Falls In The Forest", starring Sharon Stone and Timothy Hutton, was selected for main competition at the Berlin International Film Festival and in the main competition for America's South By Southwest Film Festival; "Numb," starring Matthew Perry and Mary Steenburgen, was selected to have its world premiere in the Discovery section at the Tribeca Film Festival; and "Battle In Seattle," a political action drama written and directed by Stuart Townsend and starring Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Channing Tatum, Michelle Rodriguez. "Battle in Seattle" had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Aloe's other films include "While She Was Out," a female action thriller starring Kim Basinger and Lucas Haas; executive produced by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) and jointly produced by Don Murphy (Transformers); and "Tortured," starring Laurence Fishburne and James Cromwell, which was released through Magic Box and Sony Pictures. "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever" with Lionsgate had its theatrical release in the spring of 2009. Aloe's first feature film endeavor was in 2004 and entitled "Downtown: A Street Tale," starred Genevieve Bujold and Domenica Scorsese and was released with American World Pictures.

Mary Aloe and Aloe Entertainment has also affiliated herself with the top organizations in the entertainment industry. She is a member of the following guilds: WEN (Women's Entertainment Network), American Federation of Women in Television and Radio, CAUCUS, and Women in Film.

Dan Grodnik Aloe and Grodnik formed GRODNIK / ALOE Productions in 2014. Dan is an American film producer living in Los Angeles, California. In 1989, he and partner Tim Matheson took over The National Lampoon, becoming its chairman and CEO. Currently, Grodnik is the CEO of Mass Hysteria Entertainment. The company finances and produces films for the world marketplace.

Daniel Grodnik has been a driving force in the independent film business for more than three decades. Along with his partner Mary Aloe with Grodnik Aloe Productions they have financed and produced a record nine movies in the last two years together. Since 2014, Mr. Grodnik has produced nine feature films with stars such as Robert DeNiro, Keanu Reeves, Michael Caine, Katie Holmes, Jason Biggs, and Olga Kurylenko. Mr. Grodnik has five films in post and is in prep with producer Mary Aloe on an action film for Universal entitled, “Gunfighter,” which will commence principal photography May 2017 in Kentucky and a comedy being independently financed entitled “Just Heloise” that shoots in Paris and Cologne in October of 2017 with financier Jeff Sagansky.

His ability to bring more than 54 motion pictures from concept to the screen display his ability to stay on top of current market demands in creative, budget management, finance, sales and distribution. Besides a partner at Grodnik/ Aloe Productions, Mr. Grodnik is the CHRM/CEO of Mass Hysteria Entertainment, a film and television finance and production company.

Having developed hundreds of scripts, budgeted and financed dozens of movies, and run numerous filmed entertainment companies including The National Lampoon, Mr. Grodnik is conversant in all aspects of the business of creating IP, budgeting, financing, selling, physical producing, marketing, and distributing programming worldwide. As CHRM/CEO of the publically traded National Lampoon, Mr. Grodnik took the stock from under $2 to over $6. He has worked with every major studio and network as well as many of the better-known independent companies.

Mr. Grodnik has been nominated for a Golden Globe for best picture on “Bobby”. The movie had an all-star cast including Anthony Hopkins, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Helen Hunt, Lawrence Fishburne, Elijah Wood, Lindsay Lohan, William H. Macy, Nick Cannon, and Heather Graham.

Mr. Grodnik has graded the Master’s thesis in the Peter Stark Producing program at his alma-mater, the University Of Southern California, for the past twenty-two years.



Mary Aloe

Jay Willick joined the development team of Aloe Entertainment in August of 2007 reviewing and covering all incoming projects. Jay currently supervises the development team and reports directly to President Mary Aloe, assisting with all stages of feature film and television production including budgeting, financing, casting, film festivals as well as foreign and domestic distribution deals.

Collen Drew began his career working alongside Producer, Mary Aloe. Collen's hard work and dedication to the art of making films lead to his promotion as the director of development for Aloe Entertainment, where he has been spearheading the development for three original projects including the sexpionage thriller, Flight of the Swallow; the action comedy, Band on the Run; and the action adventure, Kung Fu Princess. Collen is also the associate producer for a number of films currently in development and going into production for 2017 and 2018.
